Job Summary:

For a growing company in the genomic business (located in Houston, TX with subsidiaries in Australia and Israel, delivering consumer genetic testing products, lab services and advanced SAAS genomic interpretation software services.

An experienced and highly motivated Corporate Controller to join our expanding organization. The Corporate Controller is expected to take a leadership role in structuring, coordinating and supervising the accounting department and functions in the company, delegating work and ensuring the staff follows all current laws and company procedures. You should have the ability to work with large amounts of accounting information, analyze results, and develop financial models that reflect the company’s strategy. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Job Functions:

  •  Lead accounting efforts for venture fundraising and potential IPO activities
  • Recruit, manage, and oversee accounting departments, including working with other accounting managers locally and globally (in the US, Australia and Israel)
  • Create accounting strategies to help the company achieve its strategic goals
  • Regularly examine financial statements and ensure they are accurate and free of any errors
  • Organize and update financial records; monitor all bookkeeping
  • Prepare, manage, and present all annual, quarter and monthly reports including statutory reporting
  • Analyze financial performance and suggest improvements to meet the company’s goals
  • Ensure that all financial data adheres to current tax laws and complies with appropriate regulations
  • Managing the company’s payroll & tax payments
  • Analyzing and interpreting balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and liabilities
  • Keep company accounting information confidential
  • Act as a liaison to outside auditors

  • High attention to detail


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA Certification and Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
  • 10+ years experience in a senior accounting position
  • Experience in a senior accounting position from a publicly traded company (NYSE or Nasdaq)
  • Experience in public accounting with an internationally recognized accounting firm
  • Advanced knowledge of professional accounting software tools
