myDNA Detoxification Report

myDNA and Reveal My DNA have partnered to provide Healthcare Practitioners our Detoxification Report. Detoxification is the body’s natural process of neutralizing and eliminating harmful substances.

It occurs in two phases:
Phase I: Enzymes modify toxins, preparing them for phase II. This involves enzymes like CYP1A1,CYP1A2, CYP1B1, CYP2A6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, and CYP3A4, which modify toxins for further processing.

Phase II: Enzymes conjugate toxins, making them water-soluble for excretion. This involves enzymes like COMT, NAT1, NAT2, GSTM1, GSTP1, and SOD, which conjugate toxins for elimination.

Insights Covered by Detoxification Testing

The myDNA Detoxification Report analyzes key genes involved in the two phases, providing insights into individual variations that may influence detoxification capacity. For example, the CYP1A2 gene plays a key role in the metabolism of compounds like heterocyclic amines, nitrosamines, aflatoxin B1, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which may influence how your body processes toxins risks.

In addition to assigning a priority to each detoxification gene results, the report also includes a comprehensive Detoxification Summary, assessing the patient’s capacity across key areas:

Report Insights

Glutathione Protection Essential for cellular defense against oxidative stress.
Mycotoxins Sensitivity to toxins produced by molds.
Xenostrogens Ability to process and eliminate hormone-disrupting chemicals.
Benzopyrene Capacity to detoxify this carcinogen found in smoke and grilled foods.
Aromatic Amines Ability to metabolize these cancer-causing chemicals.
